It would be easier if You were just a thought in my head
Simply something that I once read
A belief needing my defense
And it would be easier if You were something I once knew
A hope just to hold on
But You’re holding out Your hands
You came to take us back to the start
You came to touch the hardness of our hearts
You gave us truth that truth is who You are
It’s who You are
And it’s not enough to just say, ‘I believe’
‘Cause truth is that talk is cheap
So grace give me eyes to see
You came to take us back to the start
You came to touch the hardness of our hearts
You gave us truth that truth is who You are
It’s who You are
Flesh and blood You offer us
Oh, to eat the bread and drink the cup
Oh, to taste, to see, to feel, to touch
Emmanuel, God with us
Emmanuel, God with us
‘Cause You came to break the chains apart
To wake the dead and the sleeping of our hearts
You gave us truth that truth is who You are
It’s who You are
It’s who You are
It’s who You are
Behind the Song:
On the first record, our favorite song was Times and on this record I think our favorite song is The Truth Is Who You Are. In Christian circles, you run into a lot of people that know a lot about Christ and they know a lot about Christianity and hot topics. They want to soak up knowledge and read books and at the end of the day, Jesus said I am the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father but by me. So we have to realize that Christ Jesus himself is truth, something that we can hold onto. A lot of times we search for truth in scriptures, but dont come to [Jesus]. Its just the idea that Jesus is really what sustains us. Jesus is the truth were searching for. So unless we run to Him first, all our knowledge and all the stuff we learn is just sort of puffing ourselves up. I love the message of that song. I think its such a freeing thing when people can realize that Jesus isnt some mystical person or something that you read about in a book or some kind of idea, but Hes actually a person and He wants to have a relationship with you and walk with you through these dark times. Im really excited about that song. (Jason Jamison) — Tenth Avenue North
Love Is Here lyrics
Come to the waters, you who thirst and you’ll thirst no more
Come to the Father, you who work and you’ll work no more
And all you who labor in vain and to the broken and shamed
Love is here
Love is now
Love is pouring from
His hands, from His brows
Love is near, it satisfies
Streams of mercy flowing from His side
Cuz love is here
Come to the treasure, you who search and you’ll search no more
Come to the lover you who want and you’ll want no more, no
And all you who labor in vain to the broken and shamed
Yeah:
Love is here
Love is now
Love is pouring from
His hands, from His brows
Love is near, it satisfies
Streams of mercy flowing from His side
Yeah
And to the bruised and fallen,
Captives, bound, and broken hearted.
He is the Lord,
He is the Lord,
Yeah
By His stripes He’s paid our ransom
From His wounds we drink salvation
He is the Lord,
He is the Lord.
Love is here
Love is now
Love is pouring from
His hands, from His brows
Love is near, it satisfies
Streams of mercy flowing from His side
Streams of mercy flowing from His side
Cuz love is here.
Love is here.
There’s a girl in the corner
With tear stains on her eyes
From the places she’s wandered
And the shame she can’t hide
She says, “How did I get here?
I’m not who I once was.
And I’m crippled by the fear
That I’ve fallen too far to love”
But don’t you know who you are,
What’s been done for you?
Yeah don’t you know who you are?
You are more than the choices that you’ve made,
You are more than the sum of your past mistakes,
You are more than the problems you create,
You’ve been remade.
Well she tries to believe it
That she’s been given new life
But she can’t shake the feeling
That it’s not true tonight
She knows all the answers
And she’s rehearsed all the lines
And so she’ll try to do better
But then she’s too weak to try
But don’t you know who you are?
You are more than the choices that you’ve made,
You are more than the sum of your past mistakes,
You are more than the problems you create,
You’ve been remade.
You are more than the choices that you’ve made,
You are more than the sum of your past mistakes,
You are more than the problems you create,
You’ve been remade.
‘Cause this is not about what you’ve done,
But what’s been done for you.
This is not about where you’ve been,
But where your brokenness brings you to
This is not about what you feel,
But what He felt to forgive you,
And what He felt to make you loved.
You’ve been remade
You’ve been remade.
You’ve been remade.
You’ve been remade.

You are more than the choices that you’ve made,
You are more than the sum of your past mistakes,
You are more than the problems you create,
You’ve been re-made.
The other day at a show. Little girl, probably 5 years old comes up to our sign line and says, “this is my first concert ever”. I’m like, “you’re first concert!”, I mean, that’s hard for us to comprehend because we play concerts every day, that’s what we do, you know. But, for a lot of people, they’ve never been to a concert, you know, and they don’t know what it’s like. And come a new concert is so strange because you’ve got all these people that come in and they set everything up and… and there’s this sort of weird roar that happens right before the doors open and then just all these people come into this room.
People from different classes, races, uh… successes, failures, different walks of life. They all come into this room and you’ve got this crazy conglomeration of people. And xxxxx and it’s our job to get up there and say something, say something that will connect with all these different people. And I used to think my goal as an artist or a prophet, whatever you want to call us, that my goal was to get people pumped up, to get them inspired, to get them worked into a frenzy so they can go out and live for God.
And then, back then I didn’t realize that you can’t live for God until you learn how to live because of God. And you can’t go and make good choices for God until you understand the gospel that says, “the choices you make don’t make you who you are. What Christ has done for you makes you who you are”.
And-and I don’t mean to undermine the consequences of our choices. I understand that the choices we make, they have ramifications about where we end up, but here’s the gospel: where we end up is not who we are. Who we are isn’t what we do, who we are is what has been done for us. And, you see, that’s a message that I can say to anybody, because if you’re good, hey, guess what, you’re more than your success; and if you’re bad, hey, guess what, you’re more than your failures.
You’re more than your choices, you’re more than your mistakes, you’re the sum of the Father’s love for us, and that’s who we are. We’re not struggling to be free, for in Christ we’re free to struggle.
You are more than the choices that you’ve made,
You are more than the sum of your past mistakes,
You are more than the problems you create,
You’ve been re-made.
You’ve been re-made.
You’ve been re-made…
There’s a girl in the corner
With tear stains on her eyes
From the places she’s wandered
And the shame she can’t hide
She says, “How did I get here?
