Anul acesta Dove Awards (versiunea crestina a premiilor Grammy) au avut loc in Atlanta pe data de 24 aprilie 2012.
Marii castigatorii ai acestei editii au fost Needtobreathe care si-au adjudecat 3 premii din tot atatea nominalizari si anume:

Un fapt interesat de mentionat, este ca Needtobreathe si Switchfoot si-au adjudecat toate premiile din cele 4 categorii dedicate muzicii rock in dauna unor trupe precum Red, Disciple, Skillet, Newsboys, Abandon Kansas, Blindside, Hawk Nelson sau Ashes Remains.

Premiile “Dove Awards”, versiunea crestina a Premiilor Grammy, sunt prezentate si oferite in fiecare an, de catre Gospel Music Associaton pentru realizari deosebite in industria muzicala crestina.
Premiile se ofera in cadrul unei ceremonii, ce se desfasoara, de obicei in Tennessee si cuprinde si reprezentatiile celor mai de succes artisti, din anul care tocmai a trecut. Intre 2004-2006, premiile au fost oficial numite “GMA Music Awards”, dar ulterior, au revenit la mai bine cunoscutul nume “Dove Awards”.
Anul de debut al acestei gale, a fost 1969 si reprezinta o larga paleta de genuri muzicale, incluzand metal, pop, rock, rap & hip-hop, country, gospel si praise & worship.
